Mining Analysts Showcase

Asia Mining Club (Hong Kong) is proud to host an outstanding mining networking event in Hong Kong. AMC has assembled a panel of top-tier mining analysts to showcase their research and perspectives on the mining industry.

Drinks and canapés will be provided throughout the evening with our panel of presenters stationed at the areas around the venue, exhibiting their research and available to our guests to answer your questions.  Our AMC MC, will also interview the presenters for their thoughts on the outlook of the mining sector regionally and globally.

The venue can only cater for a maximum of 120 guests and we urge you to book your tickets as soon as possible. In November 2011, AMC successfully hosted the Canadian Government delegation and 25 Canadian junior mining companies, attracting over 120 guests to attend the event, resulting in regrettably turning guests away due to reaching the maximum capacity allowed at the venue.

Dinner with Mr. Zorigt Dashdorj, Former Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mongolia

Asia Mining Club invites you to our autumn dinner event on Tuesday 30 October 2012.

The theme of the evening is “Mongolian Mining Investment: Where Next?” and to discuss this important topic we are delighted to welcome Mr. Zorigt Dashdorj, Former Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mongolia as our guest speaker.

Timed to coincide with Hong Kong’s 3rd annual Mongolia Investment Summit, the dinner will provide an opportunity for Hong Kong’s mining and investment community to hear first-hand from the man until recently at the heart of Mongolia’s mining boom.

Former Minister Zorigt will share his thoughts on the key issues impacting foreign investment into Mongolian mining. As well as offering his perspectives on the debate around the OT investment agreement and the development, listing and selection of partners for TT, Mr Zorigt will discuss the development of the Foreign Investment Law and how Mongolia is looking to continue to develop international business relationships, now that the politically fraught election season is passed.

Dinner with Panel on Finding Funding for the Next Generation of Mining Projects

Our next dinner event will be on 17 July (Tue) featuring a fascinating panel discussion on “Finding funding for the next generation of mining projects”.

We are delighted to welcome Mr. Lei Mu, Executive Director and Head of Asset Management at China Development Bank International, and Mr. Andrew Ferguson, Chief Executive Officer of APAC Resources Limited to discuss with us the challenges of finding funding for mining development projects in today’s economic climate. The panellists will examine the appetite of public sector and private sector capital for mining investment and explore the pros and cons for the mining developer of taking either private sector or public sector money.

The discussion will be led by Asia Mining Club board member, Mr. Andrew Driscoll, Head of Resources Research at CLSA Asia Pacific Markets.

Cocktail Reception with Canadian Miners

Asia Mining Club (Hong Kong) is proud to host the Governments of Canadian Provinces and Territories and 30+ Canadian exploration companies in Hong Kong to profile Canada’s rich and diverse mineral resources, favourable investment climate; and promote investment opportunities in the mineral sector through a cocktail reception.

This year, the Canadian delegation includes participants representing the Governments of the provinces of British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec and Saskatchewan, and the Yukon Territory as well as the Canadian mineral exploration and service provider industries.  There will be 25 Canadian companies with projects in base metals, coal, diamonds, gold, iron ore, rare earth elements and rare metals joining the event.
